Sophie Detweiler (left) was recognized as the Student of the Quarter by President Tim Rayne (right). Sophie is a quiet and talented leader involved in many after school activities. She is a varsity soccer and basketball player. Apparently she is better at soccer, or she likes it more, since she will be playing soccer at Emerson University next year.
Sophie participates in the West Chester Ministry where she is involved in many different projects. She is president of the Humanitarian club at Unionville High School. The Humanitarian club sends cards and gifts to vets and the children staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and runs a canned food drive benefiting the Kennett Area Food Cupboard.
This past summer Sophie was in Uganda tutoring and mentoring students attending both public and private schools. Clearly she likes adventure!
