Route 926 bridge opens in time for the start of the new school year

Route 926 to Open August 25
Ribbon Cutting Scheduled at 10:30 AM

It's official! After 7 months, the Route 926 Bridge over the Brandywine River will be open after work crews complete their final safety check.

A  Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at 10:30 AM before the bridge opens. Parking for this event is available behind the Brandywine ACE Hardware store.

The project consisted of replacing the 79-year-old bridge with a new three-span structure built at a higher elevation; rebuilding and raising 1,700 feet of the roadway approaches to make them less prone to flooding; replacing the nearby culvert over Radley Run with an 84-foot twin arch concrete culvert; and realigning 800 feet of Creek Road at its northern intersection with Route 926 (Street Road).
